Jolene Baker

Jolene brings over 20 years of engineering and data manipulation experience. She specializes in industrial data intelligence, including analytics, report aggregation, system administration, and advanced support. With extensive expertise in digital transformation, Jolene develops strategies to enhance digital workflows, optimize performance, and drive efficiency and scalability. Currently, she coaches teams and designs data solutions for industries such as oil and gas, soda ash, fertilizer, and intermediate chemicals.

James Bronstein

James brings over 20 years of engineering expertise, specializing in process design and project management. His experience spans the full project lifecycle, from preliminary and detailed design to construction, start-up, and system operations.

His areas of expertise include aspiration, fluid dynamics, boilers, steam and power systems, co-generation, combustion, heat transfer, controls, material transfer, process optimization, and the customization of specialized equipment. Additionally, James has deep knowledge in direct lithium extraction (DLE), multi-component brine analysis, and the development of new process chemistries.

As an inventor and co-author of a patent, James has contributed to the development of a cost-effective, efficient process technology for refining soda ash. Currently, he is involved in designing lithium carbonate facilities and working across industries such as pulp and paper, food processing, soda ash mining and refining, fertilizer mining and refining, and intermediate chemicals.

Chemical Analysis and Engineering

Paul

Paul brings over 40 years of experience in chemical processing within mining and refining industries, with a strong focus on conventional and solution mining for sodium carbonate/bicarbonate minerals and brines. His expertise spans a wide range of chemical processes, including sodium sesquicarbonate, lime caustic circuits, 50% caustic, 30% sodium cyanide, sodium phosphates, elemental phosphorus, combustion, oil field hydraulic fracturing, cementing, and acid injection.

In addition to his extensive operational background in plant management, Paul also possesses in-depth knowledge in laboratory management and analytical chemistry, which supports plant process design efforts. His analytical experience covers both organic and inorganic chemistries, utilizing techniques from wet chemistry to advanced instrumentation like ICP-OES and GC-MS.

Paul’s specialized skills include new process chemistries, pilot plant design and startup, process optimization, scaling, and corrosion control. He is highly experienced in managing saturated brine solutions and mineralogy, optimizing phase diagrams for cooling and evaporation crystallization, as well as environmental control technologies. Additionally, Paul has a deep understanding of lab analytical methods used to support these processes.

Chemical Process Engineer

Sandy Duncan

Sandy has over 6 years of process engineering experience, specializing in large-scale projects and chemical manufacturing operations. His project experience includes designing lithium carbonate manufacturing facilities, where he has been involved in evaluating and testing brine pre-treatment, direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology, and product crystallization processes. He also has extensive operational experience in soda ash, ammonia, urea, carbon dioxide, and site utility production processes. Additionally, Sandy has supported ammonia and urea projects, including the replacement of ammonia converter reactors and catalyst upgrades. His areas of expertise include process optimization, process modeling using Aspen Plus and METSIM, direct lithium extraction (DLE), and pilot plant design and operation. Currently, he is focused on lithium carbonate facility design and soda ash refining.

Mary Bellinger

Mary has over 30 years of experience supporting IT applications in oil refineries. She uses strong communication skills to improve software and system usage at all organizational levels. A proactive remote contributor on cross-functional teams, Mary focuses on solving problems to enhance work life for data users. As an OSIsoft PI professional, she is experienced with various features of the PI system, including Asset Framework, interfaces, and user tools.

Chemical Process Engineer

Zane Haley

Zane has over 6 years of experience in process engineering, specializing in chemical production and plant utilities. He has worked with titanium dioxide manufacturing and systems like river water clarifiers, multi-media filters, zeolite softening, de-aeration, and high-pressure steam production. Zane is also skilled in developing dashboards and KPIs using AVEVA PI and PI Asset Framework (AF). Currently, he supports front-end process engineering for direct lithium extraction (DLE) and lithium carbonate facility design.
